This workshop will cover what 501(c)(3) nonprofits need to know about lobbying and political advocacy, including:
- What are lobbying and political advocacy?
- What do 501(c)(3) nonprofits need to know if they are considering doing lobbying and advocacy?
- Federal and state regulation of 501(c)(3) lobbying
- Foundation funding issues related to lobbying
- How to respond to political candidates when they approach your organization
- Why, despite the hurdles and requirements, nonprofits might still want to do advocacy and lobbying!
No political or advocacy experience is necessary to join this workshop.
About
Community Law Center's Executive Director Amy Petkovsek and Staff Attorney Shana Roth-Gormley will present this workshop as organizations prepare for the ongoing state legislative session.

We will hold this workshop in-person at Community Law Center’s office located at 3355 Keswick Rd, Suite 200, Baltimore ,MD 21211. Free parking is available and the LocalLink 30 bus stops a block away from our office. However for those who need a virtual option, registration will entitle you to receive a link closer to the workshop date/time.
