Brisbane Polish school is a not-for-profit organization that has been active in the Bowen Hills Our Lady of Victories parish grounds since the 1950s, teaching Polish language, culture, history and geography to children and adults of all backgrounds and ethnicities. We promote cultural exchange by organizing and participating in social events. These events attract families from the Polish community, migrant communities and the local Australian English-speaking communities. In January 2024 we welcomed the Brisbane Hungarian School to our school’s building. The Brisbane Hungarian School formed in 2017 and over the years evolved to be a charitable organization which provides community language education for families of Hungarian descent. The school also welcomes all who are interested in learning the Hungarian language and culture. The learning is structured around educational activities as well as outdoor activities, holiday camps, excursions and performances at various cultural festivals.
Both schools are members of The Ethnic Schools Association of Queensland (ESAQ), a non-profit, community-based, public organisation whose members provide after-hours language and cultural education for all students, irrespective of their ethnic background. ESAQ confirmed they will be our 2025 Cultural Festival partner.
PLEASE GET IN TOUCH WITH US AT [email protected] IF YOU TOO WOULD LIKE TO PARTNER AND CONTRIBUTE TO THE SERVICES, PRODUCTS, ENTERTAINMENT AND WORKSHOPS OFFERED ON THE DAY.
Our schools aim to showcase the traditions, culinary heritage and cuisine, culture and languages of our communities as part of Brisbane’s thriving multi-cultural scene, and to contribute to Brisbane’s growing reputation as a city which celebrates its diverse population, and which supports and is representative of its multi-ethnic demographic.
