About this Event
The Victoria Bengali Cultural Society (VBCS) invites you to a one-of-a-kind celebration of Pohela Boishakh (the Bengali New Year).
For the first time ever, we are bringing our vibrant traditions out of the halls and under the open sky at Centennial Square!
Whether you are part of the Bengali community or just curious about our heritage, come join us for a day of joy, unity, and cultural discovery.
Event Highlights:
- The First-Ever "Mongol Shobhajatra" in Victoria: Witness a spectacular, colorful parade featuring traditional motifs and rhythmic drumming. This "Procession of Well-being" is recognized by UNESCO as intangible cultural heritage, and we are bringing its magic to the streets of Victoria!
- Enchanting Cultural Showcase: Immerse yourself in the soulful melodies, rhythmic dances, and poetic traditions of Bengal. A performance lineup designed to transport you to the heart of South Asia.
- Traditional Food Fair
Everyone is welcome! Bring your family and friends to experience a piece of Bengali heritage right here in the Pacific Northwest.
Let’s welcome the new year together with open hearts. Please share this post and help us spread the word!
