About this Event
Are you a poet, a poetry lover, or even poetry curious?
Come hang out at the in-person Poetry Snack Club, where we'll picnic at a local park and close-read a bite-sized poem together.
I'll provide a cozy picnic set up, some light snacks, a poem to close-read (with printouts), and will facilitate our time together. We'll spend our time reading the poem multiple times, and seeing where our curiosity takes us: could be form, literary devices, or even the meaning we each find in the piece.
All you need to bring is an open mind and an unpretentious spirit, with an eagerness to learn. Highly reccommend bringing your whimsy tucked in your jacket pocket. You may also bring your seating of choice and/or a snack to share if you wish (not required).
We’ll focus on centering poets from historically marginalized communities and a wide range of lived experiences. If that upsets you, this space is likely not the right place for you.
This is an accessible, donation based effort, so give what you're able in exchange for a ticket.
