Viktoria Valenzuela is a ChicanaM(other)Writer who serves as the associate publisher at Conocimientos Press. She holds a BA in Creative Writing from SUNY Oswego and MA in English Literature, Creative Writing and Social Justice from Our Lady of the Lake University. She is humbled to have her poetry and an essay included in the landmark disability poetics anthology, Everywhere Place On the Map is Disabled. A Zoeglossia Fellow, as well as a member of the Macondo Writer's Workshop, Valenzuela's poetry can be read online at Zocaló Public Square, The Poetry Foundation, and Mutha Magazine or in books such as Puro Chicanx Writers of the 21st Century Anthology, We Are Not Your Metaphor: A Disability Poetry Anthology, and CONTRA: Texas Poets Speak Out. Her writings center on Chicana feminism, mothering, disability and human rights issues. Valenzuela is married to Chicano Poet Vincent Cooper and they live in San Antonio, Texas where they share six children and a German Shepard named Charles Bukowski "The Dawg". Vincent Cooper is the author of Infidelis, Zarzamora – Poetry of Survival (out-of-print), and Where the Reckless Ones Come to Die. His poetry can be found in fine publications both online and in print at Somos En Escrito, Whatever Keeps the Lights On, Huizache, and Riversedge Journal. The poetry collection, Infidelis, reflects on his tumultuous stint as a Chicano in the United States Marine Corps pre/post 9/11. Cooper is a member of the Macondo Writers workshop and lives in San Antonio, Texas with wife Viktoria Valenzuela, the six children they share, and a German Shepard named Charles Bukowski "The Dawg".
