About this Event
Poetry reading by acclaimed writer and musician JJJJJerome Ellis. Free and open to the public. In the Elliston Poetry Room located in Langsam Library on the campus of UC. Public parking is available in the Woodside Garage beneath Langsam Library on the Uptown Campus, or along Martin Luther King Drive on the north edge of the Uptown campus. Masks are encouraged for this event, and attendees are encouraged to arrive scent free. ASL interpretation will be offered.
JJJJJerome Ellis (any pronoun) is a disabled Grenadian-Jamaican-American animal, artist, and person who stutters. Through music, performance, writing, video, and photography, the artist asks what stuttering can teach us about justice. Born in 1989 in Groton, Connecticut, USA the artist lives in Norfolk, Virginia, USA with their wife, poet-ecologist Luísa Black Ellis. JJJJJerome dreams of building a sonic bath house!
