Lynn C. Miller lives in Albuquerque and is a novelist and playwright, performer, and educator. Her published novels are The Lost Archive, The Unmasking, The Day After Death, The Fool’s Journey, and Death of a Department Chair. Find Your Story, Write Your Memoir (written with Lisa Lenard-Cook) came out in March 2013 from the University of Wisconsin Press. Her plays have been produced in Dublin, Austin, Tulsa, Albuquerque, Provincetown, Yaddo, and elsewhere. She has a B.A. from the University of North Dakota in English and theater, an M.A. from Northwestern University in performance studies, and a Ph.D. from the University of Southern California in communication and performance. She has taught writing and performance at Penn State University, The University of Southern California, and the University of Texas at Austin, where she was Professor of Theatre and Dance. She has performed the lives of women in history (Gertrude Stein, Edith Wharton, Victoria Woodhull, and Katherine Anne Porter), and has appeared as a guest artist at many universities and art festivals. She learned about writing through adapting and directing fiction and poetry for the stage.Barbara Rockman is author of Sting and Nest, 2011, winner of the New Mexico-Arizona Book Award and to cleave, 2019, University of New Mexico Press, winner of the National Federation of Press Women Prize and Finalist for the International Book Award. Her Best of Net and Pushcart nominated poems appear in Bellingham Review, Southern Review, Literary Mama, Nimrod and terrain.org. among many others.
She has received the Baskerville Publishers Prize, the MacGuffin Poets Hunt Prize, Southwest Writers Poetry Prize and the New Mexico Discovery Award.
Barbara has taught poetry at Santa Fe Community College, Esperanza Shelter for Battered Families and in community workshops. Founder of Community Voices, a reading and music series in Santa Fe for diverse voices, she has collaborated with numerous artists on image and text projects. She holds an MFA in Writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts and is grateful for residencies at Playa and Atlantic Center for the Arts.
