Yuyutsu Sharma is one of the few poets in the world who make their living with poetry. Named as “The world-renowned Himalayan poet,” (The Guardian) “One-Man Academy” (The Kathmandu Post) and “Himalayan Neruda” (Michael Graves, Brand Called You), Punjab-born, Yuyutsu is a vibrant force on the world poetry stage. He is also recipient of fellowships and grants from The Rockefeller Foundation, Ireland Literature Exchange, Trubar Foundation, Slovenia, The Institute for the Translation of Hebrew Literature and The Foundation for the Production and Translation of Dutch Literature. Author of eleven poetry collections, most recently, The Alchemy of Nine Smile: Nine Longer Poems and Lost Horoscope, Yuyu has read his works at several prestigious places and held workshops in creative writing and translation worldwide. Half the year, he travels and reads all over the world and conducts creative writing workshops at various universities in North America and Europe but goes trekking in the Himalayas when back home. Ruth Danon’s fourth book of poetry, Turn Up the Heat, was published by Nirala Series in 2023. Her prose and poetry have appeared in many publications in the United States and abroad, most recently in Noon: The Journal of the Short Poem, Sunday Salon Zine, The Nu Review, and The CAPS 25th Anniversary Anthology. Her work is forthcoming in On the Seawall, The Beltway Quarterly, and the Poetry is Bread Anthology. For 23 years she taught in the Creative and Expository Writing Programs she directed for NYU’s School of Professional Studies. Founder of Live Writing: A Project for the Reading, Writing, and Performance of Poetry, she teaches for Live Writing and New York Writers Workshop. She lives in Beacon, NY, where she curates literary events. She was one of the founding curators of the BeaconLitfest@the Howland.
Tim Tomlinson is the author of the chapbook Yolanda: An Oral History in Verse, the poetry collection, Requiem for the Tree Fort I Set on Fire, the short story collection, This Is Not Happening to You, and, most recently a hybrid collection of poetry and prose, Listening to Fish: Meditations from the Wet World (Nirala Publications, 2024). Recent work appears in The Bangalore Literary Magazine, EKL Review, Flash Boulevard, and Pratik: A Magazine of Contemporary Writing. Tim is the director of New York Writers Workshop, and co-author of its popular text, The Portable MFA in Creative Writing. He teaches writing in NYU’s Global Liberal Studies.
Robert Scotto is an American poet and scholar. His previous publications include a Critical Edition of Catch-22, a book on the contemporary American novel and essays on Walter Pater, James Joyce and other major and minor nineteenth and twentieth century writers. The first edition of his biography, Moondog, won the 2008 ARSC Award for Best Research in Recorded Classical Music and the Independent Publisher Book Awards 2008 bronze medal for biography. The second edition, published in 2016, is the basis for a documentary, to be released soon, featuring him as a participant. Although he has published poems occasionally in small journals throughout his life, his 2010 book, Journey Through India and Nepal, (Nirala)was his first collection; Imagined Secrets (, Nirala, 2019) was his second.
Carolyn Wells, author of Your Kiss is a River (Nirala), holds a B.A. in French Literature from NYU. A chef by trade, she trained in France and has worked in culinary roles from luxury hotel barges to her current position as Executive Chef Manager at St. Bernard’s School in New York. A Pennsylvania farm childhood and the loss of her mother at age 11 inspire her poetry, which explores themes of nostalgia, nature, and resilience. A member of the Brevitas poetry group for 18 years, Carolyn splits her time between Brooklyn, France, and a cabin in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
