“Poetry on the Road” returns with the Madison Area Arts Council at The BrickHouse in downtown Madison.
Poetry on the Road is a series of two-hour events held throughout South Dakota to help foster the creation and appreciation of poetry. The gatherings are supported by the South Dakota State Poetry Society (SDSPS), Dacotah Bank, and the MAAC here locally.
Free and open to the public, each event features poetry readings from the South Dakota Poet Laureate, Bruce Roseland, and other SDSPS member poets. There is also an open-mic portion, where attendees can sign-up to read their own original poems if they wish. All are welcome to participate with their own poetry or just to listen and support others.
