Come join us for a lovely night of poetry! Witness contemporary, groundbreaking work by featured poets Isaac Pickell, Tony McPherson, and Miguel Martin Perez and stay for an open mic afterwards to share your own work or hear from others. Signups for the open mic are first come, first served, and doors will open at 5:45.

Isaac Pickell is a Black and Jewish poet, PhD candidate, and adjunct instructor in Detroit. A Cave Canem Fellow, Isaac is a graduate of Miami University's Master of Fine Arts program in Creative Writing. He is the author of two collections of poetry, everything saved will be last (Black Lawrence Press, 2021) and It’s not over once you figure it out (Black Ocean, 2023). Isaac has taken a seat in all fifty states and has so much to look forward to.
Miguel Martin Perez is a queer Afro-Dominican poet from Harlem and the South Bronx. He is a Cave Canem Fellow, a Langston Hughes Fellow of the Palm Beach Poetry Festival, and a Tin House alum. Their poems are scattered in places like Narrative, Mississippi Review, Colorado Review, Raleigh Review, and Acentos Review.
Anthony McPherson’s work appears on Button Poetry, Huffington Post, Upworthy and elsewhere. He is a Rustbelt Poetry Slam Champion, a three-time Brooklyn Poetry Slam Champion, and a resident poet with the Smithsonian. He is currently represented by The College Agency.
