About this Event

Join us for a Writing Workshop with 2025 PMRCAA Resident Margaret-Mary Sulentic Dowell!

Date: March 18th

Time: 3 - 6 p.m.

Location: Pine Meadow Ranch Center for Arts & Agriculture

Join PMRCAA Resident Writer Margaret-Mary Sulentic Dowell for this hands-on, interactive writing workshop. During this workshop, participants will engage with photographs as creative stimuli, and experiment with three different writing genres: poetry, narrative, and argument/opinion.

Workshop Highlights:

Using Visual Stimuli as Inspiration: Margaret-Mary will project photographs focused on environmental issues and guide participants through creating "What-if" poems. These poems will create the foundation for their narrative and argumentative pieces.

Supporting Writing with Evidence: Attendees will get to support their written pieces with primary sources gathered from the Library of Congress website. Margaret-Mary will guide participants in using these sources to further adapt their poems and narratives, and inform their argument/opinion pieces.

Optional Materials to Bring:

  • Notebook and pen/pencil
  • Laptop
