Elk River Arts & Lectures (ERAL) presents an evening with Montana’s recently appointed poet laureate, Allen Morris Jones, in conversation with former Montana poet laureate Michael Earl Craig. The event will take place on Thursday, April 30 at 7 pm, at Elk River Books, 122 S 2nd St, Livingston, with doors opening at 6:30 pm. This event is in celebration and culmination of National Poetry Month.Jones is widely published across genres and forms. He’s the author of three novels, three children’s books, a highly regarded look at the ethics of hunting, an award-winning collection of poetry, and more than 100 published personal essays, profiles, short stories, and other incidental pieces. He lives in Bozeman, with his wife and son.
Craig grew up in Dayton, Ohio, and was educated at Ohio Wesleyan University, the University of Montana, and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. His poetry collections include Can You Relax in My House (2002), Yes, Master (2006), Thin Kimono (2010), Talkativeness (2014), and Iggy Horse (2023). He lives near Livingston, where he works as a farrier.

This event is part of the ERAL’s longstanding Lecture Series; writers from all over the country visit Park County to share their work with our community.
