Poetry isn’t just words or rhymes. It’s about activating creativity and sculpting softness, listening inward, and weaving outward to forge, feel, and heal. It’s a spacious gift we all carry - no right or wrong. In this salon, hear Cher’s life-affirming experiences with poetry. Explore guided prompts, write what needs to come out, bring pieces to share or shape. This is your time for community, curiosity, and discovery.


ABOUT WORKWEEKEND:

Welcome to Industry’s WorkWeekend, three days of workshops and events for Hamilton artists and the public. Whether you're just starting out, or want to dig deeper, WorkWeekend has something for you!

Classes are either FREE or ask a $20 entry fee per workshop. If this presents any barriers, please get in touch with Maddie at [email protected] so we can ensure your participation. We encourage PWYC donations from those who can, and can take debit or credit on the day.

All WorkWeekend workshop spaces live in accordance with Industry Safer Spaces policy, available on our website. Everyone is welcome, safe, and respected.

Free snacks and coffee are provided.

ABOUT CHER OBEDIAH

Cher Obediah is Ojibway and Mohawk, Turtle Clan from Six Nations of the Grand River Territory with roots in Alderville First Nation. She is a multidisciplinary creative as a filmmaker, speaker, author, and artist. Cher is a heart-centered creative empowering others to shine their brightest light. She’s a visionary who believes self-knowledge is a catalyst for collective healing and change. With a background in theatre, television, and film she lends her energy to projects that focus on holistic health, Indigenous culture, domestic violence, youth driven initiatives and content that inspires others to recognize their worth.
