“I walk with two sticks and find getting to events and moving around inside venues quite an undertaking, so appreciated the Centre being all on one level, but that was the smallest part of Poetry For All’s inclusivity. This was Poetry *for* All, because it was enjoyed by everyone, disabled or otherwise. I will never forget it.” – 2022 Poetry for All performer

"Accessibility is more than a ramp and a fidgit spinner: accessibility is everything" - a comment from 2023 Poetry for All supporter

Poetry For All is an annual event designed to provide disabled poets and audiences a live poetry event with as many barriers removed as possible:
- Level floor throughout
- Excellent acoustics for blind/VI folks
- BSL interpretation for D/deaf people
- All poems projected on a screen for people with mild hearing loss - or who like to read along.
Poetry for All is (still!) unique: BSL interpreted, in a fully level venue, with fantastic acoustics for folks who rely on their ears. All poems projected on a screen for folks who need to see the words. PAs/carers free, service dogs welcome.

Livestreaming and recording via Channel7A, for a tiny fee. Last year we had attendees from across the UK, USA, and in Oz.
ALT: Attached photo shows inside of large former church, now the National Centre for Early Music performance space. Large pillars hold of the ceiling; to the right of centre is a massive arched window. Audience is seated to the left, and to the right, at stage front, are: a BSL terp, almost hidden to the side of a female poet wearing a pink hat and looking at paper. Behind them on the wall, to the far right of the image, is a lit-up large screen with words on it. Overlaid are three text boxes: "Join us and feel included!" and "Headliners Dominic Berry & Pete Kalu!" and "NCEM is a steps-free venue, excellent acoustics, BSL terps, poems on screen". Below text about headliners are two photos: a balding young white appearing male, one eyebrow cocked, pointing a finger at camera (Dominic), and a medium-brown middle aged man with a sweet half-smile, glasses, and a white pullover, peering out from between two orange curtains (Pete). Poetry for all is a disabled-led, disabled-focused annual event held in York
