Join us for an inspirational evening of verse, voice, and community at Bookish Boutique in the heart of Downtown Panama City. Whether you are a seasoned poet, an avid listener, or just looking for a unique night out, we invite you to pull up a chair and soak in the words.
Panama City Poetry and Spoken Word has become a staple of the local performing arts scene since 2023, brought to you and hosted by Nicky Sunflower and Britt Matthews in hopes in encouraging other people to boldy and bravely share their words and their truth.
The Details
• When: Saturday April 11th 2026 | Doors at 6:30 PM | Starts 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM
• Where: Bookish Boutique, 456 Harrison Avenue, Panama City, FL
• Admission: $10 at the door (Cash, Venmo/Cash App/PayPal)
We’ll kick off the night at 7:00 PM with an hour of featured readers. Local poets and writers reading for ten minutes each. Nicky will MC and read poetry between each performer. Following a brief intermission to mingle and refill your glass, we’ll open the floor for our "Open Mic" session. Whether you’re ready to share your own original work or want to stand up and share a favorite piece by another poet, all are welcome to the mic and this is a safe space for creatives to share and get feedback on their material.
Do YOU want to Read/Perform? Come early on the night and check in with Nicky to be added to the list of performers, or if you need to reach her beforehand email her at [email protected]. You can read anything! Just keep it respectful and please do credit the original author if it is not your own work. That’s all we ask!
Bookish Boutique is a local treasure trove of stories—shopping is highly encouraged before, during, and after the event. Feeling thirsty?
