On the last day of the exhibition, KW invites artist Juliana Cerqueira Leite and space architect Dr. Barbara Imhof to a conversation. Building upon the former’s engagement with SHEE, the so-called Self-deploying Habitat for Extreme Environments, the discussion will focus on the intersection of new technologies, spatial design and human life. SHEE is a habitat system developed by 7 partners as part of an EU project. Imhof was involved in the development with her company LIQUIFER.
On view in Poetics of Encryption at KW, Leite’s centerpiece sculpture explores the relationship between her own body and SHEE’s architecture, through a body-casting performance set within a 1 to 1 model of the system.
