Playwriting 101 Tuesdays March 3rd- 31st
7-9pm $175 total (showcase on April 4th)
This five-week course is designed for any adult who has ever wanted to write a play but didn’t know where to begin. Participants will explore the fundamentals of playwriting, including dramatic structure, character development, and crafting compelling, realistic dialogue. By the end of the course, each writer will complete a draft of a 10-minute play.
The course will culminate in a staged reading showcase, where participants will hear their work brought to life by actors and have the opportunity to engage in a facilitated conversation with the audience about their piece.
Melissa Leach is a seasoned playwright having written fourteen plays ranging from ten minutes to full lengths. Melissa attended The Kennedy Center Playwriting Intensive for two consecutive years and credits much of her craft development to the rigorous training she received there. She is a published playwright whose work has been widely staged across Colorado, with additional readings presented in other states.
