About this Event
In a world where everyone wants to be heard, why does it matter? What power does our voice hold to connect with ourselves and others? How can we use it to make a change in the spaces we are in?
In this edition of Playeum Community PlayDate, we will delve into how we can amplify less-heard voices, nurture a culture of open dialogues, and embrace the richness of diversity in our work with children and communities.
Two practitioners will join us to speak about their experiences and thoughts: voice coach Petrina Kow will lead us in an experiential practice of connecting with our own voice and mindful questioning to nurture curiosity, empathy, and resilience; early childhood educator Lim Qi will share how a space that encourages discourse and experimentation opens doors to greater collective ownership in school. We will engage in playful activities and discussions on ideas that emerge throughout this reflective experience.
This session is designed for educators, parents, community workers, and professionals who are interested in working with children.

Speakers
PETRINA KOW is a voice, accents, and public speaking coach, and is the first and only Singaporean certified with the Fitzmaurice Voicework® and the Knight Thompson Speechwork® training methods. She started out her career on radio and was the co-host on various top morning shows in Singapore. Over the last 25 years, she has established herself as a top voice-acting talent, having worked with most advertising agencies, international broadcasters and consumer brands.
LIM QI completed her BA in Early Childhood Education at the Singapore University of Social Sciences in 2023. She is currently an early childhood educator with Preschool By-The-Park. Passionate about the power of creativity in children’s lives, Lim Qi is dedicated to integrating child-led play and the arts in her practices.
