Huntingdon Drama Club's play reading for April is 'Going Postal', an adaptation of the Terry Pratchett novel by Stephen Briggs. This is the 33rd story set in Pratchett's fantasy Discworld and takes place in the city of Ankh-Morpork. The story centres on conman Moist von Lipwig, who has been sentenced to death for his crimes, but is able to escape punishment at the last minute due to some unexpected help.
The unlikely saviour persuades von Lipwig to take on the job of Ankh-Morpork's postmaster, which entails rejuvenating the city's mostly dead postal service. What at first seems like a simple, but challenging task quickly becomes more than Moist bargained for...
The play reading will be held at The Huntingdon Women's Institute (6a Walden Road, PE29 3AZ) on Friday 17th April at 7.30 pm. Attendance is free for paid-up members; otherwise there is a charge of £3 which can be paid at the event.
Play readings are totally informal and people can participate to any extent that they feel comfortable.
