About this Event
Please note: Ticketing for this event will close at 12pm on Tuesday 22 October 2024.
Plants synthesize many aromatic compounds. These play a major role in the plant’s interaction with pollinators and herbivores. They also trigger our senses of taste and smell. On this walk, we’ll talk about plants that produce widely used flavours such as Vanilla, Coffee, and Chocolate. We’ll review what happens during the journey from the plant to industrial product as we explore how these products find their way to the consumer. Part of this walk will be spent in the Kitchen Garden to learn more fascinating details of our fruits and vegetables.
