We all love our pollinators, especially our Monarch Butterflies. There has been a bug push to plant Milkweed for our fluttering friends, but did you know that Tropical Milkweed can harm them? Do you know the difference between native and Tropical Milkweed? Where do you find native Milkweed? Our friends from Woodland Farms are going to explain the difference and why it's important to plant the native variety. They will also be selling native Milkweed along with other native flowers that attract pollinators. Our Plant Guru Mike will be at the plant swap table so get those plant babes ready. To celebrate spring we are giving away native flowers while supplies last. There will still be our section of orphans looking for homes that don't require a swap so if you don't have a plant to swap no worries. Thanks to New Port Richey FarmNet we will have some local seedlings as give aways as well.
This plantastic event is a partnership between Pasco County, New Port Richey FarmNet, The Florida Room and of course yours truly - Keep Pasco Beautiful. So stop by and hang out with fellow plant lovers, grab a pint from Ordinance One if you like, and maybe meet some new friends in the process. Our monthly plant swap is the fourth Tuesday of the month at The Florida Room. #plantswap #PlantsandPints
