We invite you the Planting the Torbay Beach Trail event organized by Aquatic Conservation Initiative and funded by Trees Canada. Planting will be located within the boundaries of the Town of Torbay's municipal Shoreline Conservation Area Management Unit, inclusive of the Island Pond Brook Trail Network and sections of the East Coast Trail. Through vegetation planting efforts, the trail network will be fortified through the planting of native species to prevent erosion from stormwater runoff, riparian flooding, and coastal erosion. We will also be planting native edibles such as blueberry and chuckley pear! This event ihas received support by the Town of Torbay, the East Coast Trail Association, and the Stewardship Association of Municipalities NL.

The planting event is scheduled for Saturday, September 13th, 2025 - 10:00 AM - 12:00PM. The event is a family friendly and free of charge.
Our team will provide shovels, knee pads, trees, shrubs, as well as some light snacks. Please bring appropriate sturdy footwear, sunscreen, and a reusable water bottle.
