Velkommen til en kunstnerisk og plantebasert workshop med Francesca Tullio!I denne todelte workshoppen vil du lære hvordan man utvinner essensielle oljer og hydrolat fra planter, og hvordan disse kan brukes til å lage din egen såpe. Gjennom et magisk og tradisjonsrikt perspektiv utforsker vi både teori og praksis i den fascinerende prosessen med destillering og såpelaging.
Francesca er utdannet tekstilkunstner og urtemedisiner, og har arbeidet med planter og tekstiler i over 25 år. Hun jobber med naturmaterialer i ulike former og formidler kunnskap om tradisjonelle teknikker tilpasset en moderne livsstil. Francesca er også medlem av Losæter-kollektivet Urtealliansen.
Hennes filosofi bygger på idéen om at vi ikke trenger å kjøpe alt – vi kan lage det meste selv: fra helseprodukter og kosmetikk til kunstmaterialer og hverdagsprodukter.

Lørdag 16. august (kl. 12.00–16.00)
Destillasjon:
Første dag lærer vi hvordan man lager hydrolat (hydrosol) fra planter, og samtidig får vi ut litt eterisk olje. Produktet deles mellom deltakerne og brukes neste dag til såpelaging.
Søndag 17. august (kl. 12.00–16.00)
Såpelaging:
Andre dag lager vi såpe fra bunnen av, med bruk av hydrolatet vi destillerte dagen før. Hver deltaker får lage sin egen skulpturelle såpe.

THE ALCHEMY OF PLANTS
– From Plant to Soap –
Welcome to an artistic and plant-based workshop with Francesca Tullio!
In this two-part workshop, you will learn how to extracy hydrosol from plants, and how to use these ingredients to create your own soap. Through a lens of magic and folk tradition, we’ll explore both the theory and practice behind the fascinating processes of distillation and soap making.
Francesca is a trained textile artist and herbalist, and has worked with plants and textiles for over 25 years. She works with natural materials in various forms and gives courses in traditional techniques adapted to modern life. Francesca is also a member of the Losæter collective, Urtealliansen.
Her philosophy is rooted in the idea that we don’t need to buy everything – we can make most things ourselves: from health products and cosmetics to art materials and
everyday items.

Saturday, August 16 (12:00–16:00)
Distillation:
On the first day, we’ll learn how to make hydrosol from plants, and also extract a small amount of essential oil. The final product will be shared among participants and used the next day for soap making. (Each participant receives a small bottle.)
Sunday, August 17 (12:00–16:00)
Soap Making:
On the second day, we’ll make soap from scratch using the hydrosol we distilled the day before. Each participant will create their own sculptural soap.
