Save the date for a Plant Sale + Prop Swap fundraiser, with 100% of plant sale proceeds to benefit Food at First and One Iowa.
We are accepting donated house plants from community members any time between now and the end of April. We ask that your plants be pest-free, however, we can repot/refresh them prior to the sale if needed. We have received a large gift of plants from a Back Alley friend and customer who is making an international move and cannot take them with. Back Alley owners + staff will also be donating plants and pottery from our personal collections.
To donate plants, please message the shop social media accounts, email [email protected], text 515-517-0471‬, or call 515-766-4258. We are happy to arrange for in-town or regional pickups.
Donated pottery or other gear can be brought to the shop any time during open hours. Please make sure to remove most dirt, although it does not have to be pristine.
We would like any SALE items to be at the shop a few days prior so we can price items.
Plants or pots/gear for the prop swap can be dropped off a day or two before the event, or any time the day of the event. During previous prop swaps, people have dropped off items all day.
The main sale will be Saturday, May 3rd. Any remaining sale plants/pottery will be 50% off on Sunday. More details to come! Please reach out if you would like to collaborate with us on this event.
