Rules for the swap…1. Bring healthy, pest-free plants only
Inspect your plants thoroughly for pests and diseases before you bring them to the swap.
The goal is to prevent the spread of pests and protect everyone's plants.
2. Label your plants clearly
3. Plants should be prepared for transport.
Potted plants should be in nursery pots or other containers you are willing to part with.
Cuttings or bare-root plants should be wrapped in moist paper towels or a similar medium and gently packaged for transport.
4. Ask before taking
Don't just take plants/ books from others set-up; remember this is a swap, and you should offer something in return or ask if it's available for free.
**Respect a refusal – if someone isn't interested in trading, don't pressure them.**
5. Be prepared to part with what you bring
Only bring plants/books you are willing to give away, trade, or sell.
**Don't leave the swap with more plants/books than you brought, unless you purchased some or if there are leftovers at the end. **
6. Bring a box or bag to carry your new plants/books home.
Bring extra supplies like snips, paper towels, and bags to help others if they need it.
Notes:
**The sale of plants/books will be allowed if someone who attends does not have a plant/book to swap or if there isn't an equal or agreed upon trade.
**Once a swap or sale is complete the original owner of the plant/book is no longer responsible once it has been sold or swapped. Fully inspect your plant/book before accepting the sale or swap.**
