About this Event

Come and join us to plant a tree in the National Forest, one of the boldest environmentally-led regeneration initiatives in the country.

Our Plant a Tree events offer a friendly, and enjoyable experience at which you can celebrate or remember whilst contributing to the continuing growth of the National Forest at our Brookvale Wood site in Groby, Leicestershire, a growing woodland just a short drive from the M1. You will be warmly welcomed by our team, who are always on hand to offer advice, answer questions and help make your day special.

On arrival at Brookvale Wood you will be greeted by a member of our team, and after checking in will be directed to the planting field where you will learn about the history and vision of the National Forest. You will then be invited to select and plant your sapling from a range of native broadleaf species with plenty of opportunities to take photographs. Our team are there to make your day a memorable one so if you have any questions, please ask!

Please note that the walk to the planting field takes around 20 minutes and is across fields and uneven grassy paths, which can be very muddy at times and will be difficult for people with limited mobility. Please contact us prior to booking if you have any concerns or questions.

Special thanks to our sponsor Omexom for supporting Plant a Tree.

About the National Forest

Since the early 1990s, millions of trees have been planted across 200 square miles of the midlands, an area that was previously one of the least wooded parts of the country, transforming a post-industrial landscape and linking the ancient remnant forests of Charnwood and Needwood. Today, with the support of partners and communities, the National Forest is continuing to plant trees, care for woodlands, create, connect and manage habitats, increase biodiversity and grow a greener, healthier and more sustainable future together.
