GIVE BLOOD, SPREAD LOVE PRESENTS 'UNITE FOR LIFE'

Come join us at the African Caribbean Centre - Leicester for Unite for Life: A Wellness Workshop for Students hosted by Sickle Cell Society's Give Blood, Spread Love Project in partnership with Melanin Moods and delivered in collaboration with the ACS soicieties of the University of Leicester and De Montfort University.

Are you a student looking to prioritise your well-being? Join us for Unite for Life, a dynamic and interactive wellness workshop brought to you by the Sickle Cell Society's Give Blood, Spread Love project in partnership with Melanin Moods, a mental health charity dedicated to supporting communities of colour.

This event is designed to empower you with the tools and knowledge to nurture your body, mind, and spirit, while creating a sense of community around the vital topics of nutrition, mental health, physical wellness and blood donation in the Black community.

What to Expect:

  • Interactive Workshops: Engage in hands-on sessions where we’ll dive into the essentials of balanced nutrition, mental health management, and physical wellness.
  • Education: A unique opportunity to learn more about sickle cell disorder - it's causes, challenges, and the critical role of blood donation in treatment.
  • Expert Speakers: Hear from registed nutritionist Ashleigh Simpson, Mental health CBT therapist and clinical psychologist from Melanin Moods, and physiotherapist Dominick Williams who will provide practical advice for maintaining a healthy, balanced lifestyle.
  • Group Activities: Take part in group exercises designed to help you connect with peers and learn new strategies for improving your well-being.
  • Mindfulness & Relaxation: Learn stress-relieving techniques to manage the pressures of student life and enhance your mental clarity.
  • Networking Opportunities: Meet fellow students who share an interest in holistic health and wellness.
