About this Event
In retirement, planning for the future becomes more than a thoughtful exercise — it is a vital step in ensuring that you understand your choices, have prepared accordingly, and that your plans align with the changes ahead.
Whether you are considering remaining in your current home, downsizing into a retirement community, exploring intergenerational living, or weighing the benefits of in-home care versus residential care, the options can be complex and, at times, overwhelming.
This seminar is designed to highlight the options available locally and to provide practical insights into:
- The pros and cons of remaining in your current home versus downsizing
- In-home, residential, and emerging hybrid care models
- Legal considerations, including Wills, Powers of Attorney, and Advance Care Directives
- Understanding costs and funding strategies for care
Whether you are planning for yourself or supporting a loved one, this session has been developed to equip you with essential knowledge and to help you build meaningful community connections that support informed decisions about care, finances, and legal protections.
Broaden your local network
Representatives from various local industries, including retirement living, care providers, senior peak bodies, end-of-life services, and social support, will be present at the meeting. We offer a relaxed setting where you can meet these individuals face to face and keep them as part of your network if or when needed.
We encourage attendees to bring any questions they may have regarding estate planning or retirement relocation.
For further details or to RSVP, please contact KJB Law or Phillips Wealth Partners.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Linda Evans. Senior Associate, KJB Law

After graduating and working in private practice for a short time, she worked part time as a tutor and lecturer in law at the University of Wollongong before taking some time off paid work to care for her four children.
From 2012 to 2022, Linda developed her expertise in wills and estates, helping families achieve peace of mind by working with them and their financial advisors to plan appropriately for the future.
Rather than spending her long-service leave holidaying on a tropical Island (like normal people), she chose to return to university in 2023 to complete a Master of Teaching degree before arranging a tree-change with her husband and youngest daughter to join the KJB team in 2025.
Her experience as an educator and lawyer means Linda has a unique skill set, enabling her to explain and provide effective solutions to complex situations.
David Endersby. Senior Associate, KJB Law
David has a Bachelor of Law from Edith Cowan University and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Australian National University. He also holds a Graduate Diploma in Management from the Australian Graduate School of Management.

On completion of his engagement, David held a variety of business management, service delivery, and sales positions across manufacturing, hospitality, finance, and membership organisations.
Operating a human resources consultancy while undertaking his studies allowed him to serve the local community as a Justice of the Peace in the West Australian Magistrates Court.
On admission to the Supreme Court of Western Australia, David practised family law along with estate planning and litigation. On moving to Canberra in 2020, he practised across a range of areas, including assisting Legal Aid clients, before moving to Yass to work across all areas in a country practice.
This combination of legal and commercial experience brings a broad perspective to the advice and assistance David provides to clients.
He returned to Canberra and worked in a professional services firm, before joining KJB Law in July 2024.
