Plains, Trains and Cowboys will be on April 24th and 25th on the grounds of Old Abilene Town, Dickinson County Heritage Center and Abilene & Smoky Valley Railroad. We have teamed up to bring in a Wild West show featuring Buffalo Bill Cody, Wild Bill Hickok, Annie Oakley, Dr. Gatling and his Amazing Gun, Side Saddle Riders and many others demonstrations.We will have evening performances of The Lazy Wayne Band and Rusty Rierson, along with Serenity String band at the Old Abilene Town Pavilion. Heritage Hall will have cowboy poets Ron Wilson and Zerf for a fun and entertaining time through poetry about the cowboys. The musical group, The Fiddlers, will play bluegrass favorites.
Old Abilene Town, Heritage Center and Smokey Valley Railroad will have their museums open throughout the day for the public to see.
Old Abilene Town will have kid’s activities, gunfighters and Can-Can dances.
Heritage Center will have carousel rides, carnival games and tractor show.
Abilene and Smoky Valley Railroad will be running each day. There is an extra cost to ride the train.
We will have food and craft venders available.
Cost is $10 for Adults and $5 for Kids each day. Wristbands are available at the Dickinson County Heritage Center 412 S Campbell St. in Abilene or day of at the gates.
