About this Event
🍕 Pizza Through the Ages
A Tasting Journey from 18th Century Naples to Modern NYC
Step into a one-of-a-kind culinary experience tracing the evolution of pizza from early 18th century Naples to modern-day New York City! Join Roberto Caporuscio, founder of Kesté Pizza & Vino, and Scott Wiener, founder of Scott’s Pizza Tours, for an unforgettable evening of pizza tasting and education.
This curated, programmed dinner includes 🥂 appetizers, 🥗 salad, 🍕 multiple historic pizza tastings, 🍰 dessert, and 🍷 unlimited wine. Scott will lead a dynamic presentation on pizza history while Roberto prepares examples for you to taste in real time. You’ll experience the oldest known pizzas from 18th century Naples, homestyle pizzas Roberto grew up with, variations that appeared during the great Neapolitan migration of the late 19th century, and contemporary interpretations — including special creations by guest pizzaiolo Domenico Tolomeo, known for merging Neapolitan and New York styles in a way that continues to influence modern pizza today.
Roberto Caporuscio is President of the Associazione Pizzaiuoli Napoletani, training pizza makers around the world, and is widely regarded as one of the most trusted authorities on pizza. Scott Wiener has been a leading voice in the industry since 2008, appearing on major media outlets and founding the hunger relief nonprofit Slice Out Hunger, which will benefit from this special evening.
This is a rare opportunity to experience the full history of pizza — without ever leaving your seat.
