About this Event
Between November 2025 and January 2026, Funder Films made six films with with six wonderful individuals in Deal.
The films are all between 6 and 12 minutes long and the line-up is fantastically varied: memories of a bombing raid in Deal in January 1944; coping with camels in Egypt in the late 1940s; recovering from mental illness in the 1990s/2000s; being a hairdresser in Dover for 60 years; a good old-fashioned love story; and the closure of Betteshanger mine in 1989.
Screening will take place at the Astor Theatre in Stanhope Road. Please arrive between 1430 and 1500 for an 1500 start.
Seating is unreserved but we are asking people to let us know if they are attending through Eventbrite so that we know how many to expect. The screening is free but we will be taking donations which will be split between the Astor Theatre and PixtoFlix. (A card reader will be available!)
PixtoFlix is a project run by Funder Films for people living with dementia and their carers. This is the fourth iteration of the project and this phase has been funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.
