Join us on Saturday, November 23rd, at 6 PM at Film Noir Cinema in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, for a screening of Pixote: A Lei do Mais Fraco (Pixote: The Law of the Weakest). Directed by Héctor Babenco in 1981, this gritty Brazilian film follows young Pixote and other street children of São Paulo as they navigate survival in a corrupt juvenile detention system.
The film will be introduced by Laura Barker, founder of the NY Brazilian Film Festival. After the screening, join a post-screening discussion with Professors Fábio Andrade of Vassar College and João Nemi Neto of Columbia University.
