“A little boy is engrossed in his game of pirates. He’s busy tackling crocodiles and dodging sharks when some new children arrive in the playground. Noticing that he only has one leg, the inevitable questions begin – where is the other leg? Is he hiding it? Was he attacked by lions? Or did it fall down the toilet?
Please join us at Bedminser Library over the Easter Holidays for an event with Karen George, award winning author and illustrator, who will be reading from her inspiring books “What Happened to You?” and "You're So Amazing" and helping us all to create some wonderful Pirates to populate a big Pirate Ship!
Karen has spent A LOT of time drawing and painting. When she was small that's what she liked doing best - and now she loves encouraging children to join in and draw together.
In 2009, she won Waterstones’ ‘Picture This’ competition to illustrate Freddie and the Fairy for Julia Donaldson. Her other titles include Hugh Shampoo and Mr Mornington's Favourite Things.
Karen lives in Bristol with her family and Dr Calamari the cat.
