About this Event
About the Gala
The Pioneers for Change Gala by Skills for Change (SfC), is an annual celebration recognizing exceptional immigrants, refugees, and underrepresented leaders who have made a meaningful impact on Canadian society.
Since 1993, Pioneers for Change has honored inspiring individuals whose leadership, resilience, and innovation have shaped industries including business, social services, education, health, arts, public policy, skilled trades, and advocacy. It celebrates ongoing commitment to celebrating immigrants and continues to break down barriers so that newcomers can thrive. We seize this opportunity to recognize those members who demonstrate outstanding dedication, going beyond and exceeding expectations, and recognize them in appreciation.
Past award recipients include former Governor General of Canada, Adrianne Clarkson, Canadian businessman and star of Shark Tank, Robert Herjavec, former Skills for Change client and teacher Altaf Quadeer, and CEO of the Toronto International Film Festival Cameron Bailey.
This signature event highlights the power of diversity and inclusion while celebrating the achievements and contributions of newcomers across Canada.
