About this Event
Every year, Pinoys on Parliament (POP) empowers Filipino-Canadian youth by highlighting the excellence within our community, inviting trailblazing leaders to inspire the next generation to do the same.
This year, our theme, Panahon (in Tagalog, means: season/time/era/moment), speaks to the natural shifts delegates will experience in their life, both personally and professionally, and builds upon the lessons learned from last year’s theme - Laro - where delegates and community leaders alike discussed healing their inner child.
Join us for free on February 21 - 23, 2025 in Ottawa, Ontario for POP's 7th year!

Who are we
- Founded in 2018 by members of the Filipino Student Associations of uOttawa, Pinoys on Parliament (POP) is Canada’s first and only 3-day national Filipino-Canadian leadership conference that has brought over a thousand delegates since its inauguration.
- Kabangka as a registered not-for-profit organization originated from POP’s establishment.
- The guiding principles of Kabangka are youth empowerment; good governance; partnership; collaboration; community; equity; diversity and inclusion; and non-partisanship — which builds onto the principle foundations of POP as well.
What do we do
- To create a space where Filipino/a/x-Canadian youth lead the conversation and utilise the power to facilitate change on issues and interests that are of importance to them;
- To uplift the community through identity exploration, professional and personal development;
- To build networks of young emerging and established leaders;
- To learn from emerging and established leaders in the fields they want to succeed in;
- To empower the current youth generation to create greater representation in the public, private and nonprofit sectors.
