About this Event
Join us on October 25th, 9AM–12PM at the Seymour Lieberman Exercise Trail for a 5K walk/run to raise awareness for breast cancer, celebrate survivors, support those still fighting, and honor the beautiful lives we’ve lost.
This cause is deeply personal to me. My mom, Darlene Mutswairo, was diagnosed with breast cancer in July 2021. She courageously fought, went into remission, and continued to stand strong when it returned just 11 months later. She gained her heavenly rest in September 2023.
During her journey, She Still Smiles Inc. walked alongside her—providing lunches, a safe community of women to share with, and encouragement every step of the way. This year, they are honoring my mom at their walk in Washington D.C., and on the same day, we will be walking here in Houston to stand in unity with them.
