The day before the main event, the Pillar to Pou course belongs to our tamariki.Pillar to Pou Pioneers gives 4-15-year-olds the chance to step into the challenge - same course, same start and finish lines, same energy - all in a way that’s scaled just for them.
It’s a solo run - no relays, no handovers - just them and the path ahead.
At registration, parents select a quarter, half, or full 7.3km loop. These are guidelines only - what matters is showing up, giving it a go, and finishing proud.
Participants taking on the full 7.3km loop will be officially timed, with podium recognition for top finishers.
Every registered child receives a race pack, event t-shirt, and finisher medal - a keepsake of their effort and achievement.
Pillar to Pou Pioneers takes place at 4pm on Friday 12 June 2026 the day before the main event on Saturday 13 June.
