Pilgrims of Hope in a Troubled World: OLK Jubilee Retreat

This event will help participants to reflect on the significance of the Jubilee or Holy Year and how we can live it more fully.

Why did Jesus begin his own mission by framing it in the context of the Old Testament Jubilee? And how can we be pilgrims of hope in Leeds today?

The day will begin at 10.00 with the parish Mass in Holy Name Church (adjacent to the hall) - all participants are encouraged to attend the Mass if possible.

After Mass we will move to the hall for registration, and, after coffee/tea, Sir John Battle, chair of the Diocesan Pastoral Council, will deliver a keynote talk: "Jesus of the Jubilee".

The afternoon session will be split between 2 workshops:

• "Jesus Bringer of Good News" : repairing our relationship with our brothers and sisters
• "Jesus Lord of Creation" : repairing our relationship with God's creation.

The day concludes with a plenary session to bring it all together, and will finish by 3 p.m.

There is no charge for this event, but places are limited so early booking is recommended.

We are asking everyone who comes along to bring some food that can form part of a shared lunch.
