Did you know… Pilcher Park is one of the few remaining old-growth oak woodlands in Illinois, home to
dozens of rare plant and birds species?
These species are threatened by shade and lack of fire, but community efforts can help restore the areas unique biodiversity.
Come help let the light back into Pilcher Park! Activities will include brush control/burning and seed distribution.
All are welcome! This season of stewardship kicks off on Saturday, January 17, 9 AM to 12 PM.
Meet at the Pilcher Park Nature Center parking lot- additional parking is available nearby.
