In Pie Crust for Dummies, we’ll break the process down into simple, foolproof steps that anyone, even with no baking experience, can master.
Get ready to roll up your sleeves in this hands-on class and learn:
• The difference that butter, shortening, and mixed-fat makes in a pie crust
• The proper way to measure, mix, and handle dough without overworking it
• The secret to creating flaky, layered crusts
• The best techniques for rolling, shaping, docking, and blind-baking with confidence
• The tricks for fixing common mistakes on the spot, without losing your composure
Each participant will make their own pie dough from scratch, turn it into a small seasonal pie, and enjoy the fruits of their efforts right in L’OCA Labs.
THINGS TO KNOW
Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to allow for seating.
Registration for in L’OCA Classes and Events are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, and require full payment.
We reserve the right to cancel any class that fails to meet a minimum enrollment, scheduling conflicts, chef availability, or other unforeseen circumstances.
If for any of the above reasons a class or event is canceled, you will be notified via email and issued a full refund to the original method of payment.
Refunds are only available for cancellations received 72 hours or more prior to the class.
