About this Event
Hosted by the Byrd Cancer Education & Advocacy Foundation, in partnership with Ricky Codio Photography, this event combines community, creativity, and health awareness in one inspiring space to encourage Black women ages 25–55 to enroll in the VOICES of Black Women study.
This event is designed to make women feel seen, valued, and celebrated while also educating them about the importance of participating in research that centers Black women’s health.

- On-site VOICES study sign-ups (for Black women ages 25–55, no prior cancer diagnosis)
- A welcoming, uplifting environment focused on celebrating Black women and their stories
- Light refreshments and great conversation
Eligibility
- Black women ages 25–55
- Living in the United States
- With no prior cancer diagnosis (except basal or squamous skin cancer)
If you’re not eligible for the study or prefer to learn more before enrolling — you are still encouraged to attend! Be part of the open discussion, connect with other women, and join us for the official group photo celebrating the power and presence of Black women in health advocacy.
