The Pennyroyal Arts Council invites the community to Picnic with the Pops: The KY Derby Edition. Celebrate the 152nd Kentucky Derby in style while supporting the arts during a special fundraising event on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the historic Alhambra Theatre in downtown Hopkinsville. Presented with support from Signature Sponsor, Planters Bank, this festive evening will combine the excitement of the “Run for the Roses” with live music, Derby-inspired food and drinks, and community celebration—all benefiting the Pennyroyal Arts Council and its programs.
Throughout the evening, we will also honor our Volunteer of the Year and present the Champion of the Alhambra Award, recognizing those who help make our mission possible.
Proceeds from the event support the Pennyroyal Arts Council’s mission to bring arts education, performances, and cultural programming to Western Kentucky while preserving the historic Alhambra Theatre.
