Picnic Area live at the Spinning Top, 20 Wellington Road South, Stockport SK4 1AA, on Thursday 11th June 2026, 8pm onwards, adm free. Picnic Area will be playing about 8.30pm, other acts and more details tbc.This is Stockport-based Picnic Area’s first gig in this wonderful intimate venue. The Picnics have been going some 20 years, with a few lineup changes, and have released 3 studio albums which have been critically acclaimed by the likes of Americana UK. Starting out as a very British alternative country band they have gradually shifted more towards powerpop territory, and their forthcoming album will include influences ranging from 60s pop to post-punk. As well as running their own Picnic Club night at various venues, they have played at prestigious events like Manchester Grillstock and the Blackthorn Festival. Picnic Area will be playing an extended set including new and older material, plus maybe the odd cheeky cover.
