About this Event
Join Anderson & Pickens County Stormwater Partners (APCSP) a Clemson Extension Service and City of Pickens Parks and Recreation for trash clean up on the Doodle Trail to celebrate the week of Earth Day - We will host our trash clean-up the day before Earth Day on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. The trash clean-up will take place at Pickens Doodle Park (409 E. Cedar Rock Street, Pickens, SC 29671). APCSP will have a table set up at the head of the trail with all of the supplies you will need (trash bags, grabbers, gloves, vests etc.) and some waters and refreshments for volunteers.
What You’ll Learn
- The importance of preserving our natural resources by cleaning up litter along our roadways and nature trails
- Stormwater Management practices including: low impact development strategies, rain gardens, rain barrels, where water goes when it rains down the stormdrain, and more about water quality citizen scientist programs in the area
Agenda
- Pick up your supplies anytime between 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM from our table, clean-up along the doodle trail. The trail is approximately 7.5 mile paved trail that ends in the City of Easley. Bring trash back to the Pickens Trail Head Entrance and we will dispose of it for you.
What to Wear/Bring
- Closed-toe shoes and clothes that can get dirty
- Refillable water bottle
- Sun protection
All clean-up supplies will be provided. Participants are welcome to bring their own gloves if preferred. Light refreshments and a water cooler will be available.
