Piano Portraits of Latin America

Join us on Saturday, May 16 at 6:30 PM at Mount Vernon Place Church, commonly known as the “Green Church,” located at 2 East Mount Vernon Place, for Piano Portraits of Latin America, an evening of piano music performed by internationally acclaimed pianist Agustin Muriago. Tickets are $25.


In Piano Portraits of Latin America, Agustin Muriago will perform works by composers from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, and Venezuela. This special program offers audiences a rich and engaging musical journey through Latin America, highlighting the distinctive voices, styles, and traditions of the region through the piano. The recital will take place in the beautiful setting of Mount Vernon Place Church, commonly known as the “Green Church,” at 2 East Mount Vernon Place, making it an especially memorable evening of live performance.


Agustin Muriago has performed throughout the United States, Spain, China, Austria, Italy, Brazil, and his native Argentina, in venues such as the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing, the Chicago Cultural Center, The Kennedy Center, and Lincoln Center in New York City. His repertoire ranges from standard piano works to contemporary music premieres, with an emphasis on Spanish and Latin-American music. He has recorded for Acte Préalable, Radium Recordings, Albany Records, and for NPR affiliates.
Muriago has presented recitals featuring Latin-American music for the Argentina Festival in Hong Kong, Latin American Cultural Week in New York City, the Sonus International Music Festival, the Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert series, the Latin American Music Center in Washington, D.C., and at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music.
He currently serves as Assistant Professor of Keyboard Skills at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University and is a Yamaha Artist.
