Piano Day: At the Piano with Louise Spencer Performance, Process, and Conversation
Piano Day is an annual global celebration held on the 88th day of the year (March 29th, usually) to honour the piano, its performers, composers, and builders, founded by German pianist Nils Frahm in 2015 to raise the instrument's profile and inspire more playing.
This will be an intimate and atmospheric performance of Louise's original piano music with discussion about her creative process. Tickets are very limited!
Louise Spencer is a classical crossover composer and musician from Nottingham. As a BBC Introducing Artist her music is regularly featured on BBC radio, and she was awarded Composer of the Week by BBC Radio 3 for the King's Coronation Special. Her music is atmospheric and often deeply personal reflecting influences from composers such as Debussy, Nils Frahm, Ludovico Einaudi, Joe Hisaishi and Ryuichi Sakamoto.
