The mathematical constant “pi” (symbolized as the Greek letter π or the decimal 3.14) continues forever, and the digits 3-1-4 hold lasting significance with St. Louisans as the hometown area code prefix. To celebrate the connection between those numbers and March 14, the Saint Louis Science Center is hosting several free activities surrounding that date. The Science Center’s Pi-themed celebration on March 14 (from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) spans across all galleries and will include hands-on activities, demonstrations and experiments for those of all ages. Look for the π symbol around the facility.
In addition to Pi-themed activities and free, hands-on experiences around the Science Center, guests may enjoy documentary films in the OMNIMAX Theater (Serengeti, Secrets of Great Salt Lake and Deep Sky), virtual reality rides in the Experience Flight simulators and the Discovery Room for a nominal cost.
