About this Event
This seminar explores the relationship between scientific discovery and the deeper questions of meaning and purpose.Drawing from examples in physics and engineering, Dr. Jung Han will examine how science seeks to understand processes in nature through bservation, experimentation, and mathematics, while also recognizing the limits of science in addressing questions of origin, purpose, and human meaning.
Dr. Jung Han received his Ph.D. from Purdue University and is a professor and leading researcher in semiconductor materials and devices. His work in wide bandgap semiconductors, optoelectronics, and nanoscale materials has contributed to advances in LEDs, photonics, and modern electronic technologies. He previously worked at Sandia National Laboratories and has taught and conducted research at Yale University since 2001.
