Join us and spend the day with Rebecca Ickes Carra from The Maker's Playbook who will demonstrate and help you take professional photos using your own phone camera.
- Learn how to create consistency in your photography.
- In this one-day hands on class, you will learn the basics of harnessing natural light for professional-looking images.
- We will then discuss and practice avoiding some of the most popular mistakes I see ceramicists making online with their photos.
- By the end of the day, you’ll know how to avoid issues like distortion, extreme glare, inaccurate colors, and distracting settings.
- You will also learn how to get those coveted blurry backgrounds (even with older-model cell phones)!
- There will be ample time for on-site practicing with hands-on support from Rebecca as well as time for Q&A.
- This workshop will be limited to 14 participants per day.
ABOUT REBECCA
Rebecca Ickes Carra has been a professional photographer for the past 14 years and a side-hustling ceramicist for the last 6. Having learned the bulk of her photo skills while working in the fast-paced world of weddings, her teaching methods are focused on saving makers' time and being able to consistently get the same results even in changing environments. She skips the "jargon" of photography and gets directly to the heart of what you actually need to know to take better photos, faster. She has taught makers from all over the world in her online classes as well as through visiting instructor seminars at Harvard University and DePaul University. Rebecca is the host of The Maker's Playbook podcast and lives in Milwaukee, WI with her husband, Francesco Carra who is a production potter. Learn more about Rebecca: @themakersplaybook
