Analog Alternative: Large Format Photography.... WITHOUT A DARKROOMJoin lifelong photojournalist and artist Lance Rothstein in vibrant Downtown St. Petersburg, Florida, for this three-day workshop exploring alternative methods of Large Format Analog Photography without a darkroom.
We’ll put away our digital devices and harness the power of Florida Sunshine to make genuine, handmade photographs using 4x5 film, vintage cameras, Polaroids, and several alternative process printing methods.
Lance will share the tips and secrets he's developed over the years as we experiment together with some newly discovered techniques and some even older than photography itself.
Each day will include:
~ A lively discussion on the alternative processes to be used that day
~ An in-depth instruction on how to use the techniques
~ Ways of using traditional methods as well as paths you can take to do your own experiments
~ A guided photo walk to different areas of St. Pete for image-making
~ Individual time for discovering your own surprises in the city
~ Instructive workshop time for dabbling, developing and printing
~ Review, group feedback and constructive critique session
